1. What is Vitalect Integrated eLearning Services?

The Vitalect Integrated eLearning Service is a value-added service that brings together Vitalect's longstanding experience in the eLearning business and the best of open source technologies to provide an integrated solution to serve the business needs of corporations, schools, and non-profit organizations. There are three basic steps involved in our approach:

1. Understanding your needs
2. Defining and recommending a strategy
3. Implementing the solution

In other words, we work with you on a consulting basis to understand your requirements and recommend a strategy, and implement a solution. If desired, we are available to host, support and maintain the system that we help put in place.

2. Why is it important?

eLearning has evolved over the years and so have the needs of organizations around the world. There are scores of commercial solutions available, many of which unfortunately are point solutions. At the same time, there are scores of powerful open source eLearning tools and technologies. Besides, a "one size fits all" approach has its limitations and can prove to be expensive both inthe short and the long run. Under these circumstances, we believe that a best of breed solution that can be customized to suit the needs of organizations is the best approach to eLearning.

3. What are the various components of an effective eLearning platform?

The components of an eLearning platform depend entirely on the needs of an organization. For example, it can include a Learning Management System (LMS), a Learning Content Management System (LCMS), a Certification engine, integration with Conferencing tools and services for live online training, to name a few. Other technology extensions can inclde a CMS for portal content management (Joomla), Forum software for message boards/discussion groups (MyBB), and solutions for managing Customer Relationships (Sugar CRM).

4. Is this a hosted solution or can it be purchased out right?

Our services primarily involve developing a custom solution where the different components are integrated together to meet the needs of the end customer. If the customer wishes to host it themselves we are open to deploying the solution on one time-basis. Alternately, hosting services can also be provided if required.

5. Is it possible to use your services if we already are using Moodle (or other similar technologies?)

Yes. We are essentially a best of breed solution. We simply strive to leverage our expertise in eLearning solutions and your existing technolgy infrastructure to meet your objectives.
